Meghan Reedy

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My work is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a deep belief in every person’s capacity to grow and heal.
I have extensive experience working with youth in the foster care system and individuals who have experienced trauma, including those navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, ADHD, school-related issues, and suicidal ideation. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to build resilience.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me is collaborative and personalized. I draw from a range of modalities, including:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support clients in processing difficult experiences, including traumatic grief and loss.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and strengthen connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support individuals in building skills to manage impulsivity, mood instability, self-harming behaviors, and high interpersonal conflict.
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients find grounding, emotional regulation, and peace in daily life.
- Strength-Based Approaches to highlight and build on each person’s unique abilities, fostering self-worth and confidence.
Each treatment plan is tailored to meet clients where they are, focusing on meaningful and sustainable progress.
What to Expect in Our First Session
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I aim to make our first meeting as comfortable and collaborative as possible. We will begin by getting to know each other and talking about what brings you to therapy. I will explain how therapy works, what confidentiality means, and how I approach treatment.
I will ask questions about your experiences, strengths, and challenges to get a full picture of how best to support you. If you are not sure what your goals are yet, that is okay. We will figure it out together over time. By the end of the session, we will have a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels right for you.
My Strengths as a Therapist
I believe that therapy works best when it is built on trust. My greatest strength lies in my ability to create strong, supportive, and nonjudgmental relationships with my clients. I approach challenging behaviors with patience, empathy, and a behaviorally informed perspective.
My goal is to help clients feel capable, respected, and understood, and to support meaningful change that lasts beyond the therapy room.
Who I Work With
I work with children ages 6 to 12, teens ages 13 to 17, and adults ages 18 to 64. I specialize in working with those experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, mood disorders, school issues, and related challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting youth who have experienced trauma or are navigating complex life transitions.
My ideal clients are those who are ready to explore new ways of coping, healing, and growing, whether they are seeking help for the first time or continuing their journey of personal growth.
